A few days before November 9th, UNI France organised a debate at the national headquarters on the topic: “twenty years after: challenges for Europe!” Laurent Schouteten, YEPP Chairman, reminded the history of the Berlin wall and his signification for Berlin, for Germany, for Europe and for the world.

The RCDS Alumni association (RCDA) gathered for his annual meeting on January 22th and 23th, kindly hosted by Konrad Adenauer Foundation. Over 100 participants representing the older and younger generation of Germany’s biggest political student organisation had the unique opportunity to reflect the fall of the Berlin wall and to commemorate the 20 years of German reunification in the presence of contemporary witnesses in official positions at that time.

On 17 November 2009, Civic Democratic Youth (ODM) Slovakia has decided to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the start of the downfall of the tyrannical communist regime in Czechoslovakia. The event took a form of a practical joke; members of ODM were dressed in uniforms of the "Pioneer" organisation, which was the socialist antagonist to the Scout movement in the West.
