Busy EDS Chairman

EDS Chairman Juraj Antal attended two events in October. He was present in the Advisory Council on Youth of the European Youth Forum in Budapest. It is very important that EDS was there as it represents the biggest youth and student association in Europe. Chairman was also in Belgrade in the EPP Political Campaign Managers meeting where he was hosted by G17+, the coalition party of the Serbian government. Knowledge and experiences gained there will be very helpful in the upcoming EDS campaign Knowledge is power. EDS would like to thank EPP, Christian Kremer as VP and G17+ for their hospitality in Belgrade.

EDS attended Forum 2000

EDS Chairman Juraj Antal and co-chair for the permanent working group on Human Rights, Charlotte Spurkeland attended Forum2000 which was held from the 9th to the 11th of October in Prague, Czech Republic.

Forum 2000 was held for the 15th time, and the theme of this years forum was "Democracy and the Rule of Law". With over 50 panels and discussions, the program promised to touch on a range of interesting and difficult issues, and did.

European Democrat Students well represented in EPP structures

Bucharest, September 22-23 – Following the positive reception of EDS Bureau in the last year, the new EDS Bureau was also this September well represented at the 10th Summer University of the European Ideas Network – think thank of the EPP Group.
At the event, where more than 300 participants gathered to discuss the topic „A Centre Right Answer to the Economic and Social Crises:A Project for Europe”, European Democrat Students was present with Chairman Juraj Antal and Editor-in-chief Sandra Falkowska.

EDS present at 2nd Voluntary Convenion in Brussels

On the second week of September, one of the biggest youth events of this year took place. The 2nd Voluntary Convention, organised by European Youth Forum, gathered more than 1500 people.
European Democrat Students has been part of the Convention with the side conference prepared in cooperation with other political youth organisations – members of European Youth Forum.

Political Season in Brussels starts with EDS successes

The launch of the political autumn in Brussels begin of the week was keeping the new EDS leadershipbusy, just one day after concluding the Prague Council Meeting. Newly elected Chairman Juraj ANTAL, joined by former Chairman and now Honorary Chairman Bence BAUER, alongside new Secretary General Samuli KAURANNE and Deputy Secretary General Dace SPELMANE attended the most important meetings and presented the new Bureau and EDS work plan to a number of officials.
