
EDS at the 40th Anniversary of the EUCDW
2017 marked 40th anniversary of the European Union of Christian Democratic Workers (EUCDW).
Led by its President Elmar Brok, Secretary General Ivo Belet and Treasurer Ria Oomen-Ruijten, the EUCDW is the voice and official association of Christian Democratic workers in the European People’s Party.
Tomasz Kaniecki, Secretary General was honoured to represent EDS in the celebration. In his remarks he underlined the need of strong cooperation of students and employees. This cooperation will lead to more education from experience and provide better solutions for the European market problem.
Participants were addressed by Elmar Brok, President of EUCDW and EPP MEP, Dara Murphy, EPP Vice President and Campaign Director and Armin Laschet, Minister President of North Rhine-Westphalia.
During the meeting participants adopted a declaration which called all European and national policy-makers to strengthen education as a public task, providing lifelong learning for all people, strengthen active social inclusion, awarness of sustainable development, human rights and active citizenship.
Tomasz reminded that above priority corresponds with the policy of EDS.
The celebration was held in Burg Heimerzhein, Germany — Bonn.
