Kicking Off the Season in Style: 5th EDS Power Brunch Recap

Kicking Off the Season in Style: 5th EDS Power Brunch Recap
Yesterday morning, we officially launched the new season with the 5th edition of our EDS Power Brunch, welcoming a fantastic crowd of young leaders, students, and youth advocates to the EPP Headquarters in Brussels.
Coinciding with the opening day of the EPP Group Youth Week, the room was buzzing with fresh ideas, sharp political discussions, and plenty of morning coffee.
In Conversation with Caillum Hedderman
Our special guest for this edition was Caillum Hedderman, President of the European Youth Forum, which represents tens of millions of young people across Europe.
Rather than a formal keynote, Caillum engaged in an honest, open dialogue with participants, diving straight into the critical challenges facing European youth today:
- Youth Rights & Empowerment: Concrete steps needed to protect and expand youth participation across the EU and international institutions.
- The Future of Funding: Navigating MFF advocacy to safeguard long-term financial support for independent youth organisations and Erasmus+
- Setting the EU Agenda: Practical advice on how youth branches and political networks can actively shape policy debates heading into the next Multiannual Financial Framework.
A massive thank you to Caillum for his energy, valuable insights, and willingness to tackle every tough question from the floor!
What Made the Morning Special
- High-Level Networking: Bringing together youth representatives from across the continent right before the full momentum of the EPP Youth Week kicked off.
- Open Exchange: Real dialogue where participants could challenge ideas, propose solutions, and connect directly with key decision-makers.
- Great Atmosphere: Meaningful conversations over breakfast and coffee in the heart of Brussels.
What’s Next?
This is just the beginning. With the new institutional cycle and political term picking up speed, we are already preparing the next editions of the EDS Power Brunch and upcoming policy seminars.
Stay tuned, more details are coming soon!
