A unique opportunity has opened for the single vacant position of Co-Chair of the Human Rights Policy Working Group within EDS.

We invite our member organizations to nominate one candidate for this role. The ideal candidate is a motivated and hard-working individual with a passion for European politics and a solid understanding of current world affairs, particularly in the field of human rights.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and discuss policy motions on human rights
  • Address violations and democratic backsliding
  • Propose improved legal and political frameworks

Selection Process:

The EDS Bureau will review all applications, conduct interviews, and announce the appointed Co-Chair publicly.

EDS currently has five Policy Working Groups: Human Rights, Policies for Europe, Higher Education and Research, Economy and Technology, and Creative Industries and AI. At our Council Meeting in Genoa, members adopted 11 policy motions on diverse and pressing issues, from improving the EU emergency response system and introducing a universal European plug to tackling the housing crisis.
