On Thursday, January 29, European Democrat Students (EDS) launched a new tradition in the heart of Brussels: the first-ever EDS Power Brunch.
Designed to break the routine of the "Brussels bubble," this inaugural edition gathered a vibrant mix of active young minds, including EPP Group interns, students from the College of Europe (Bruges), representatives from the Martens Centre, and members of our partner organizations.
High-Level Support & Real Stories The event was officially opened by EDS Chairman Francesco, who emphasized the importance of creating a dedicated space for young leaders to connect directly with decision-makers.
Following his opening remarks, we were honored to be joined by EPP Secretary General Dolors Montserrat. She welcomed the participants and highlighted the crucial role of youth in shaping the future of the Centre-Right in Europe, thanking EDS for taking the initiative to bring such a dynamic group together.
The gathering also went beyond standard policy discussions. In a moving segment, we hosted guest activists from Iran, who shared powerful personal testimonies about their fight for freedom and the realities of the current regime. It was a stark reminder of the values we stand for.
Join the Conversation The energy in the Schuman Room confirmed one thing: this is just the beginning. The EDS Power Brunch will return as a monthly gathering for young leaders to network, debate, and share ideas over coffee and croissants.
Don't miss the next one.We are already planning the next edition. Dates will be announced soon, but spots are limited.
