Strengthening Ties: EDS Policy Days in Rabat, Morocco

From June 27th to 30th, a delegation of 16 members from the European Democrat Students (EDS) had the unique opportunity to visit Morocco for the EDS Policy Days. Our visit was marked by insightful discussions with ministers and parliamentarians from the upper and lower houses, focusing on critical policies related to education, immigration, infrastructure, the overall state of affairs in Morocco, and European-Morocco relations.

Our gracious hosts, the RNI Students (Rassemblement National des Indépendants), ensured a warm and hospitable welcome, for which we are immensely grateful. One of the highlights of our visit was the tour of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Ben Guerir. Here, we witnessed firsthand the substantial investments in education and innovative programs introduced by our hosts, such as the Coding Academy 1337. This academy stands out for its peer-to-peer learning model, where students evaluate and learn from each other rather than following traditional teaching methods.

The hospitality extended to us and the achievements of the Kingdom of Morocco over the past two decades left a lasting impression. This visit marks the beginning of a fruitful collaboration with our Moroccan partners, and we look forward to building on the connections and insights gained during our time in Rabat.
